Dedicated to the old boys and girls of Pei Chun Public School:
Do you still remember the old school hall, where Chen xiao zhang (Principal Chen) would always make us recite the ancient Chinese poems..?
Do you still remember the tiny and squeezy school bookshop, separated from the chicken huts by a green fence..?
Do you still remember, how we had to endure the horror of the dental nurses once every year?
(Okay I agree that I'm exaggerating just a lil...xp)
And do you still remember sitting in classrooms in rows of four or five, listening to your teacher talk as she writes on the ancient blackboard using chalk..?
I remember that one of my favourite food in the school tuckshop was nasi lemak with some of its delicious spicy chilli, and that sometimes, I would either gobble my food down quickly or skip eating altogether to go play catching in the field during recess time. =)
Initially, I started out wanting to blog about Zhiwei's birthday celebration at Kbox yesterday, but after looking at these pictures, I know that I just HAVE TO reserve a special post for these photos alone...
Looking at these photos sure brings back wonderful memories..whether the happenings I had encountered in Pei Chun were happy, sad, or just purely embarassing, they now reside as beautiful memories deep in the depths of my heart. Initially I had thought that I could not remember much about my primary school days, since, well, I am a pretty forgetful person-.-, but I was wrong.....these pictures made me realise that I remember so much more about Pei Chun than I thought I ever did, and that they had always been lurking around at the back of my mind...
Sadly enough, I don't keep in much contact with my primary school friends, and it's been a long long long time since I went back..even though I only live a stone's throw away...sigh...guilty huh..=(
Looking back, those days were so innocent, so carefree...This stressful life that I'm leading right now is simply incomparable to those days of the past. Wouldn't it be simply awesome...if our lives can just stay simple, innocent and happy forever? Bleah..wishful thinking on my part..
For those who used to study in Pei Chun, and wish to relieve those fond memories, there are many more pictures at http://www.pbase.com/blurified/peichun
And lastly, I love Pei Chun! Thanks for playing such an important role in six years of my life..=)
